Installation to your hard drive

To install Linguas OS to your hardrive:

  • boot to the Live CD
  • right-click on the desktop, choose "Admin tools"> Install to Hard drive
  • follow the instructions…

Preparing your system for installation (this is only significant if you wisht to retain
another OS, ie. Windows, on the drive in addition to Linguas OS, creating a dual-boot system, in which
you can choose either OS during boot.)
Prepare your hard drive for installation
PCLOS instructions - these instructions are specific to the tools that Linguas OS includes for installation to your hard-drive, although, with some modification. Linguas OS does not have the KDE desktop
currently included (can be added with Synaptic). When these instructions indicate use of Konsole, you will want to
substitute Xterm (in the Admin Tools menu on your fluxbox desktop. Remember, right-click to bring up that menu.)
Konsole and Xterm are, basically, the same thing.

If you wish to have a Linguas OS only computer, just tell the installation program to wipe your drive and have a go.
Very simple.

VERY IMPORTANT! - During installation, Linguas OS will ask you to enter a "root password".
You will need this password later on to make changes to your system (like, installing additional software).
DO NOT FORGET THIS PASSWORD! (Don't give it to anyone else, either, though. It is equivalent to
your adminsitrator's password on Windows, and anyone who has it can alter your system, or access
any part of it!).
